David Hockney 1995 Black and White Dog Calendar

£14.99

Artist: David Hockney

This calendar was produced by Salts Mill in 1994 (for the year 1995) and was dedicated to David Hockney’s dear dachshunds. Stanley and Boodge, who are the stars of every month! Consistent with their vintage, the calendars are showing minor signs of wear and tear and there may be small scuffs to some of the corners.

The 12 drawings reproduced in the calendar were drawn in crayon on handmade paper between September 1993 and May 1994. In the catalogue for the Salts exhibition Some drawings of my family, friends and best friends (the best friends being the dogs), David wrote: “The dogs… had to be drawn rather quickly, and I had to make sure paper was all over the house and studio as to move away and get it meant the dogs moved as they always follow me.”

The calendar is a rich source of 12 beautiful images which if you wish you can remove and frame.

This is an authorised David Hockney archive / vintage calendar, produced by Salts Mill, for Salts Mill. It was printed in Bradford, West Yorkshire in 1994. We would describe its condition as good to very good.
